During the summer, INOVA+ hosted an engaging session focused on the Value Creation Wheel (VCW), a methodology designed to help teams tackle complex challenges and create lasting value. This session was part of the IMPACTWHEEL project’s scope, which is built around the VCW methodology. In a 45–50-minute interactive session, the team explored the core components of VCW, including the Funnel, Sprint, Journey, Method, and Meta Framework—tools that guide organisations in generating, filtering, and implementing impactful ideas.
The Challenge: Ensuring Long-Term Impact of Erasmus+ Projects
The group chose to address a critical challenge in their work: How can the results of Erasmus+ projects be made sustainable and impactful over the long term? This issue is central to INOVA’s mission, and the session offered a unique opportunity to apply the VCW methodology to find practical solutions.
Applying VCW to the Problem
Using the Funnel methodology, the team brainstormed a wide range of ideas for ensuring the sustainability of Erasmus+ project outcomes. They then employed the Sprint method to filter and prioritise the ideas with the highest potential for impact. This process involved categorising, weighing, and refining ideas, ultimately aiming to narrow down the most feasible solutions.
While time constraints prevented the team from fully completing the process, the session proved to be extremely valuable. Participants appreciated how the VCW framework structured their approach, transforming a complex problem into manageable steps and providing actionable solutions.
Conclusion: VCW—A Practical Tool for Everyday Use and Future Innovation
One of the key takeaways from the session was how VCW can be applied not only to formal projects but also to everyday business decisions. The methodology provides a structured approach to organising ideas, prioritising actions, and solving problems efficiently, making it a versatile tool for both business and personal decision-making. This was a clear demonstration of how the IMPACTWHEEL project will bring positive impact, benefiting universities, SMEs, incubators, and more, as it integrates this powerful methodology into its core.
Ultimately, the session showcased that VCW is not just a theoretical framework, but a practical, results-driven approach that can be used to create meaningful value. Moving forward, INOVA+ looks forward to continuing to apply the VCW methodology to future challenges, driving innovation and delivering sustainable impact through projects like IMPACTWHEEL.
